The Metropolis by Kevin Callaway

The Metropolis Notes
“A message must arrive at its destination. A letter will have an end unknown to its sender. Like glass bottles with notes for an unknown shore, they eventually sink into silt.” Is an homage to Niall Campbell’s poem, The Letter Always Arrives at its Destination.

“ . . . a naming; “Halowe’en”. Charles Ives writes for the Reaper. Ives writes for the dada.” Here referencing American Modernist composer Charles Ives composition “Hallowe’en”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallowe%27en_(Ives)

Kevin Callaway lives and works in Los Angeles. His essays have appeared in Gulf Coast, Arts & Letters, Southern Indiana Review, Chicago Quarterly Review, Fugue and others. He is currently working on his debut manuscript of essays tentatively titled “Men Who Move Like Ghosts”.
