John Rechy, author of numbers works of fiction and nonfiction including City of Night, The Sexual Outlaw, The Miraculous Day of Amalia Gomez, and About My Life and the Kept Woman, is a pioneer of gay literature whose honors include PEN USA West’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and an NEA Fellowship, and the inaugural One Magazine Cultural Hero Award.
